About the Author

Hi! I’m Asheera, the author and illustrator of “The Souk Surprise”, the first of The Nomadic Storyteller series. I’m a New Zealand-born Kiwi, with a strong passion for travelling. I’m also a trained teacher who wants to see our children’s bookshelves filled with diverse perspectives.

Growing up was challenging, as I experienced the sting of racism and prejudice. As a result, I’ve chosen to dedicate my time to create an inclusive series that helps raise a generation who celebrates cultural diversity.
